It’s 2017! In case you hadn’t noticed…
I started 2017 off with a BANG. Mark and I decided to go to a glamorous (to us at least) event at Blackbird Bar & Restaurant in Brisbane. It was five hours of open bar, delicious canapes and exciting music (both live and DJ) – by the end of which Mark had to carry be back home because my feet were killing me.
However I did have time to dive into this fancy golden bathtub filled with delicious bottles..
After New Years Eve we took a couple of days off to go to the mountains. I had booked a nice little Alpine Cabin at a B&B called: Mt Warning Bed & Breakfast Retreat (I can really recommend it, it was such a nice little place).
We went to Mt Warning and got up at 3 in the morning to hike up the mountain and watch the sunrise. It was absolutely amazing however, hiking up a mountain in the middle of the night is a little bit scary because you have no idea of your surroundings. Other than the little light from your flashlight (note to self: get a headlight for next time!) it is completely black. The cool thing is that you can see/hear animals you won’t normally hear during the day. We saw glow worms and a little stray possum and when we reached the top – after 2 hours of hardcore hiking and rock climbing – it was completely cloudy no sun in sight…
But after a little while, it did clear up.
The walk down.

This year, I have decided to start working more on my portfolio which I will be presenting on a new website that I’m currently working on. I will still be studying here at UQ in Brisbane as well and hopefully graduate by the end of the year.
I hope you have had a wonderful New Year’s and that 2017 rocks!
